The fact that it’s English-only lets me launch a blues radio station, whereas Siri on my iPhone is completely incapable of it — it hears ‘blouse’, which is just hopeless… The best spot for this speaker is the kitchen at home — I quickly fire up a track by voice while I’m cooking.

Pocket is trying to inject ads into their read-later service to push freemium users into taking out a subscription. I have nothing against paid services — servers don’t pay for themselves and developers need to eat — but €5 a month for so little value is painful. Finally, since January 2016, the team has improved their parser so it pulls articles faster, and the same goes for articles with videos and photos: Instapaper is closing the gap it had on Pocket in that department.

A former Apple addict, I’m increasingly drawn to the products of the formidable Big Brother: Google. Battery life: this is a weak point of the tablet, and a weak point of many Android devices too. Battery life is slightly worse than on the Nexus 7, which is a shame because I already found the Nexus a bit tight. At €250 I think this tablet is better than the Nexus 7, but if you have to pay full price, you’re probably better off going with the Nexus.
