Tired of drowning your web finds in a poorly organized Notion database? Many people, like me, use Notion to archive interesting SaaS services and apps. Notion’s web clipper is convenient for saving pages, but the sorting, tagging, and writing of summaries tends to get neglected, turning the database into a graveyard of forgotten links.

Karakeep: smart archiving
Karakeep takes the essential features of Notion — like adding tags and summaries — but automates them with AI. Every time a new link is saved, Gemini (Google’s AI) runs in the background to extract relevant tags and generate a concise summary. The cost? A few cents per operation, a negligible amount compared to the time saved.
Karakeep ’s search engine is solid, which makes it much easier to find specific information. The application is constantly evolving.
Personally, I’m eagerly waiting for:

- the ability to detect duplicates, because yes, I lose track and I tend to add the same links multiple times.

An API is available to control your instance from outside. You have the option to expose an RSS feed to surface your favorite tools on your website (something I might do).
You can also listen to webhooks — meaning for every link you add, you could, for example, automatically generate an article idea to write about.
There’s a sharing feature that lets you share links collaboratively through the tool. I haven’t tested this feature yet.
