If you don't know Pocket, shame on you 😂. I'd also recommend the browser extension; the service was acquired by Mozilla, so on Firefox you don't need an extension — it's built into the browser (and while we're on the subject, it'd be nice if the service were integrated into the mobile app too…). If you don’t know Pocket, shame on you 😂. Let me remind you what the thing is for. It’s an online service that lets you save an article you found on the web to read later — or even offline when you’re stuck on public transport, for example.

The service is available on all platforms; I mainly use it on iOS via the dedicated app, which you can download here . I’d also recommend the browser extension; the service was acquired by Mozilla, so on Firefox you don’t need an extension — it’s built into the browser (and while we’re on the subject, it’d be nice if the service were integrated into the mobile app too…).

So what’s brilliant about this service is that if you don’t have time to read an article right now, you just save it to Pocket and read it later.

The point of this article isn’t really to introduce the service — even though that’s done ✅. I want to show you an option I find interesting 🧐. If you subscribe to a newspaper or a site where articles are only visible to subscribers, you can still read those articles in Pocket on your phone. For my part, I subscribe to Le Monde 🗞 — I save subscriber-only articles and can then read them in Pocket.

To make this work, you need to go into the app’s settings and log in with your account on the site. A picture is worth a thousand words:

Once you’re connected to your favourite site, you can add articles to Pocket and they’ll be readable in the app.

I now open the Le Monde app to pick the articles I’m interested in, then put them in the Pocket app so I can read them and find them again later.

I hope 🤞 this article helps you make the time to read the articles that matter.
