I’ve been an AirPods fan from day one — I bought them at launch in December 2016, to be precise. Today they’ve just died… And I’m not even a heavy user — I probably use them about two to three hours a week! That doesn’t seem like much…
They won’t hold a charge anymore. Every time I take them out, at least one earbud is already dead — it’s genuinely annoying. This had happened to me before, but they were still under warranty back then.
To replace them I decided to go with something other than Apple, just as I did with the Apple Watch (replaced by a Polar Vantage M ). So I gave Jabra a shot — specifically the 65t active model, which I’m currently testing. So far I’m really impressed: I’ve had them in for a whole morning and the isolation is in a completely different league. The two products aren’t really comparable, but I’m curious to see if these ones last more than two years!
So yeah, slightly disappointed by the short lifespan of the AirPods — but everything has to end eventually. I’d be curious to know how long yours have lasted on average.
